Clay Coil-Building Pottery

Coil-building is a technique that's been used by potters for thousands of years, and it's still a technique we use today! From simple bowls to elaborate sculptures, this class is all about exploring the possibilities of coils. Each student will be given 3lbs of clay to work with and will be shown the basics of how to build structurally sound pieces. After that, it's up to you! After finishing building the pottery, students will then decorate their pieces using velvet underglaze (like paint, but for clay). You'll leave the pottery with us to be clear glazed and fired in the kiln, and we'll call you when it's done (can take 3-6 weeks). This class is recommended for ages 5 and up, all materials provided.

For this class to take place as scheduled, we must have at least 2 participants. If we have not reached the minimum by 48 hours before the start time, the class will be cancelled and any ticket holders will be refunded in full.
